Vehicle Weight by Trip Report
Gives you a trip-by-trip view of vehicle weight throughout each journey.
Overview
For every trip, you can see the vehicle's weight at the start and end of the journey, as well as the lowest and highest weight recorded during the trip. The report also includes useful trip information such as travel time, distance, locations and driver details where available.
This can help you understand how vehicle loads change throughout the day and identify trips that may need further investigation.

Important: Weight information is only available for vehicles fitted with on-board mass (OBM) sensors.
Report options

| Select Period | Choose the date range for the report, including Today, Yesterday, This Week, Last Week, This Month, Last Month or a custom range. |
| Select Vehicles | Select one or more vehicles to include in the report. |
Fleet Summary
The KPI cards at the top of the report provide a quick overview of activity across the selected vehicles.

| Total Trips | The total number of trips recorded across the selected vehicles. |
| Total Travel Distance | The combined distance travelled by the selected vehicles. |
| Average Idle Time While Powered | The average percentage of ignition-on time that vehicles spent stationary. |
| Total Trip Time | The combined duration of all trips in the report. |
Report details
Each row represents one trip.

| Vehicle | The vehicle registration or identifier. |
| Primary Label | The value assigned to the vehicle's Primary Label. |
| Device Type | The telematics device currently fitted to the vehicle, such as TAG3 or TAG5. |
| Start Time | The date and time the trip started, based on ignition ON. |
| End Time | The date and time the trip ended, based on ignition OFF. |
| Start Location | The location where the trip started. |
| End Location | The location where the trip ended. |
| Driver | The driver associated with the trip, where available. |
| Distance (km) | The total distance travelled during the trip, calculated from GPS position data. |
| Duration | The total time from the start of the trip to the end. |
| Idle Time | The amount of time the vehicle was stationary while the ignition was on. |
| Start Gross Weight (kg) | The vehicle's gross weight at the start of the trip. |
| End Gross Weight (kg) | The vehicle's gross weight at the end of the trip. |
| Gross Weight Min (kg) | The lowest valid gross weight recorded during the trip. |
| Time of Min Gross Weight | The date and time the lowest gross weight was recorded. |
| Gross Weight Max (kg) | The highest valid gross weight recorded during the trip. |
| Time of Max Gross Weight | The date and time the highest gross weight was recorded. |
Understanding the weight information
The report uses weight readings from the vehicle's OBM sensors to show how the vehicle's load changes throughout a trip.
For example, comparing the Start Gross Weight with the End Gross Weight can help you identify whether the vehicle gained or lost weight during the journey.
The Minimum and Maximum Gross Weight values provide a broader picture by showing the lightest and heaviest valid readings recorded at any point during the trip.
Good to know!
Only valid weight readings are used
A weight reading is considered valid when:
- The vehicle is stationary, travelling at less than 2 km/h; and
- Every axle reporting at that time records a weight above 0 kg.
Weight readings captured while the vehicle is moving are not used.
Start and End Gross Weight
The Start and End Gross Weight values use the closest valid weight reading within 10 minutes of the trip starting or ending.
If a valid reading isn't available within that timeframe, the relevant field will be left blank.
Minimum and Maximum Gross Weight
The Gross Weight Min and Gross Weight Max values consider all valid weight readings recorded throughout the trip.
This means the minimum or maximum weight does not necessarily occur at the beginning or end of the journey.
Trailer changes are supported
If a trailer is picked up or dropped off during a trip, the number of reporting axles may change.
Weight readings can still be used where they meet the requirements for a valid reading.
